Radha Nagar Beach Bestowed with the precious award of ‘Asia’s best beach’ by TIME Magazine, Radha Nagar Beach situated 12 km from Havelock’s ferry pier is undoubtedly one of the best beaches of Andaman Islands. Fine white sand, turquoise blue waters, and a lot of peace and serenity are the hallmarks of this beauty.
Also known as ‘Haathi Tapu’; the Hindi version of Elephant Beach. the island derives its name from the walks that the elephants of Havelock have been known to take around this region. Though there is everything the same about elephant beach, there are small intricacies that set it apart from others. This place is considered to be the best place for Snorkelling and Diving because of the clear blue conditions.
Laxman Pur Beach – Laxman Pur Beach is correct at the Neil Island jetty (about half a kilometer) and is a wide, white beach. Most of the tourists visit this beach in the morning hours and do snorkeling in the evening they get to watch the sunset at Laxmanpur beach.

This is the closest beach to Port Blair, a mere 8 km from the City center. The drive to the beach is a stunning visual treat. You will get quite a view of Marina Park, the pristine blue sea lining the entire route.
A few miles from Port Blair is Ross Island, once an administrative headquarter for the Britishers before an earthquake rocked the Island in 1941. This island makes you nostalgic and takes you back in time when this was an administrative settlement for the Britishers. The Indian Navy has rebuilt some of the old buildings like the bakery and the local stores, from where souvenirs are available.
North Bay Island is a popular destination in Port Blair. The beach and the snorkeling opportunities in its fringing coral reefs are the closest ones you will find at Port Blair. A ferry will take you across Aberdeen Jetty and bring you back after 3 hours. The corals at North Bay are rather good and spread over a large area. You’re very likely to spot many fish, lobster, or even clams on the coral reef. When at North Bay, it is time to relax and enjoy.
